NAIROBI (Somaliguardian) – A Chinese national and 6 Kenyan construction workers were killed in an attack in Kenya’s Lamu County on Friday, Al-Qaeda-aligned militant group Al-Shabaab said on Saturday via its affiliated media.

Kenyan media reported that militants also burnt two vehicles in the assault at Majengo in Boni Forest. Reports by local newspapers also indicated that four people were killed and several others, including a Chinese national, were missing.

It is the deadliest single attack by insurgents in Kenya over the past weeks, which comes only a few months after Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for a similar assault on a camp for a Chinese road construction company in Kenya in which a number of vehicles had been destroyed.
